There is only forgetting, no deleting.
Of course it makes sense. Just like it makes sense for a web admin to delete a web page. Obviously doesn’t mean that it’s permanently wiped from all devices. I care more about the annotation than the actual deletion. Clients could indicate deletion events on notes whether or not they still exist on any relays. Or clients could choose to hide or delete them entirely. Let the client and the relay decide how to handle it.

Are note previews coming at some point?
I think that’s an antipattern. Compose view should be the same as the final post. If not then that needs fixing
OK, but right now that’s not what happens.
Curious why is this an important issue to you? Current post view doesn’t bother me that much and I tend to focus on things that bother me.
Because I would like to be able to see how links and images will be displayed in the same post. At the moment if I paste in a link to an image and a link to a webpage, Damus priorities the display to show the image first and then the link preview below, but it also removes line breaks so the URL appears immediately after the text unless I add additional line breaks. So it’s just a matter of guesswork to see how the post will display.
For example, I’m adding two images and a link here with one line break between them.
How will this display? I’ll only know after I hit post.

So no renderimg images, quotes, or mentions huh
We render images in posts when composing and quotes when quoting, we just need to do it when you paste stuff
By the way a use case I have which isn't supported is pasting an image directly, instead of just importing it from photo library. Not sure how hard it would be to make it so when an image is pasted it's uploaded to nostr.build

No real deletion in a distributed system.
I think "declared as deleted" is what makes 95% of people already happy. It's more a staement, that the note does not align with personal opinion (anymore) and the world should take note of that. Am I really off here or does it make sense?

The difference is that if my friend requests something be deleted, I *want* to fulfill that request. Not honoring my friends’ requests makes me feel like a perv
