I tried Muun again. I know… I’m lazy and fine with custodial for small amounts.

The main issue I see is the fees. It seems the more you send, the higher the fees go up. So much so that it’s hard to stomach them.

Why? Why do fees go up so much when you send the 2nd or 3rd time??

Is Muun on here?

Sorry not answering your q, but Muun actually isn’t custodial afaik

Pretty sure it is. Literally asks for email for backup.

It doesn’t require one. Muun is submarine on-chain wallet 🐶🐾🫡

Oh so the email backup is a convenience feature?

Yes! Just get the recovery words and keep your iCloud back up and you are set, no email needed 🐶🐾🫡

You don’t even need to do the icloud backup

That’s true, all for convenience only 🐶🐾🫡

Yeah

Yeah not for lightning at least.

By on-chain it is.

Muun relies on swaps. Every lightning transaction you send is also an on-chain transaction. That's the driver behind the fees.

Oh. wtf 😂

You can send and receive lightning quickly but they're doing a submarine swap. It was a fantastic trade off to have a noncustodial simple lightning wallet before all the spam jacked up the fees.

Yeah it’s like AQUA, but AQUA uses Liquid so it’s cheaper

Their lightning tx fees are still a mystery though. Seems like they don’t charge you for the swap fee on every tx.

Why not just use Phoenix by the way? Not a criticism I'm just curious.

Hi Karnage, one of my friend has put 1 bitcoin onto Muun. Is it safe? will it cost him a lot while moving back on On-chain?

He has put this in on-chain muun wallet

Way too much for any hot wallet IMO.

Exactly

Go for Aqua!!

Try Blink, they have Stablesats. I'm testing it and wow, it's amazing! You can send/receive sats/BTC in lightning without the hassles of price fluctuations or calculating how much you want to send. I haven't tried sending large quantities through them yet but I will be trying that out next!
