The beautiful part about America is it's federated Republic model.

Anyone lobbying a change to the electoral college is naive at best.

I don't want anything to do with New York, California, Washington, etc...

Each congressional district allocates a vote, so the state ends gets split up

I'm in the UK. Some of my more lefty acquaintances suppoert proportional representation as a voting system.

They also hate Donald Trump.

I had a lot of fun in 2016 pointing out he won the the electrol college.

And the electrol college is a proportianal representation sytem...

Not exactly, more a case of using proportional representation for the popular vote.
