I just wish Trump had real economists advising him and explaining that lowering spending is needed more than anything else, that the free market can and does handle everything better, including prisons, and that violations of legitimate property rights are always bad. What he really means is he wants to get tough on repeat offenders and violent criminals because the laws have been relaxed to favour criminals or even to encourage criminality.
