Getalby is a great app to get your lightening address. I got my personalized nostr address through iris which is a pretty good client too.

NOSTR allows you to âself verifyâ no need to get Elonâs permission for a blue check. If you control the internet domain you can get a verified address. Iâm jessemarkowitz@yourpersonalcryptoassistant.com.

Lightning is way of sending bitcoin faster and cheaper.
Sats is short for Satoshis. Itâs like cents in bitcoin. One US Dollar is equivalent to 100 cents. One Bitcoin is equivalent to 100 million Satoshis. Take a look at https://www.finder.com/satoshi-to-bitcoin-conversion-calculator
Notes is what gets posted on NOSTR. Like tweets on the service formerly known as Twitter.

Yes, NOSTR is absolutely censorship free. But folks are also quick to mute / block folks with spam / abusive posts. Add great content and gain followers!!!

There is a lot of overlap with crypto and NOSTR. A lot (almost all?)of the initial folks on NOSTR came from the bitcoin / crypto world.

Exactly!!! You can get a âlightning addressâ that looks like an email address. Folks can send you bitcoin directly to that address. I like https://getalby.com. You can go there and âcreate accountâ to get started.
Often instead of a like, Iâll âzapâ (send satoshis). Satoshis are like cents to dollars, a small part of a bitcoin.
Depending on where / how you live today it may be hard to pay your bills straight from bitcoin, but that is changing. Meanwhile, you can convert bitcoin to fiat (old style government issued money) via an exchange who takes bitcoin and give you US Dollars or euros.
There are many services that can help you but availability varies by what legal jurisdiction (country) you live in. I use https://strike.me amongst many others. I havenât used but have heard good things about https://www.bitrefill.com

Strike.me works in the US. BUT there are three states that have state level legislation that blocks many services including Strike. These are NY Hawaii and South Dakota. Im not sure about US territoriesâŚ

Strike is great because it is bitcoin-only, and serves as an exchange so you can covert your sats to usd and plop it into your bank account if you want to. You do have to use strike.army to get the LN address to allow for receiving zaps directly on notes, but once your setup it is slick.
