Down here all the good little boys and girls aren’t leaving their homes, so I guess at least y’all had a frickin protest.
The prairies and Quebec have always had a contentious relationship with the federal government. Thankfully, the provinces still have a lot of power and are relearning how wield it.
Experience is teaching me a confederation > a republic in a technical sense.

Me too, but power never flows downwards peacefully. That’s the only part I think is sad. I have this feeling that suffering is coming.
And it doesn’t matter what the protests were for. It’s the principle and the precedent that was set.
It’s the knowledge of something you know exists but haven’t witnessed, so you can kind of convince yourself that it would never happen. Then to to see it play out in front of you, in real time, vindicates what you have always feared.
Same shit will happen when the conservatives are in power and the eco terrorists protest.
Now one side has done it, it just gives permission to the other side. You’re seeing that play out down here with the investigations. The dems did it to trump, so they’re doing it to Biden, who will in turn do it to the next guy (or gal).
The real question i always ask is, “what are they doing they don’t want anyone to notice?”
