In fact, inflation 'can not' be caused by 'big oil', gas stations, grocery stores, farmers, or anyone else other than the banks and central banks.
The classical definition of inflation is the ratio between paper claims of money against the amount of real reserve.
Statost economists suckling on the money printer's udders pushed for the definition to be changed into 'price inflation' and not only that, but 'cpi inflation' and then they blame the rising price on those who are just trying to survive rather than themselves.
