Don't buy the bonds.
The bonds are a psy-op, and no sane Euro will buy them.
On the table: confiscation of savings, and money printer.

If they want war bonds, why don't they just issue war bonds?
Because no sane person buys war bonds.
Savings aren’t idle though.
If you deposit 1000 euros to a savings account paying 1% interest, the bank doesn’t just put your money out the way and generously give you 1% extra a year.
No, they take your money and invest it in something else, with the goal of making 10+%, pocket the majority of it and throw you a small kickback for letting them use your money to make themselves richer.
The money is hard at work. It’s just the saver that isn’t seeing much benefit from this.

Those who decide so can opt out.
While it’s definitely Orwellian what they want to do, there’s a grain of truth from the Europeans I’ve known, that they tend to invest too little (largely don’t even consider it like we do in states)

Oh I know, and maybe their culture (assuming I’m even right in my anecdotal guess) has some good reason historically for being weary, but definitely seems they just sit on their money too much from my pov. Their prerogative of course
