Oh! Forgot. Android has three buttons; ||| , □ and < . This back button ( < ) universally among every app out there lets you exit the app back to your homescreen once you reached the top of the apphierachy. In damus, it just does nothing. First time i have encountered that in any app. Technically i can still use the dedicated □ button, but i am not going to learn new controlls because one app decides to be an outlier.
Discussion
These buttons don't exist in Graphene, at least not by default
Recent versions of android have a little bar at the bottom edge and back is swipe from left and top down is system menu swipe up bottom up is activities.
Idk about newer versions but you can renewable triangle circle square. Triangle is back, points down to hide keyboard, circle is to go to the launcher and square is the activities menu.
I prefer the buttons.
The buttons still exist as an accessibility feature but ended up being maintained less and less. Some apps may not gracefully handle them these days.
