Hey #AskFedi,

Is *anyone* out there using FOSS for accounting?

I'm struggling with Quickbooks desktop (which you can only get as a subscription now, unless you pay four figures for an enterprise license).

#Xero comes highly recommended to me, but I'm loathe to go "#cloud" for accounting. Very loathe indeed.

But while I want to try FOSS for my personal accounting, I just can't make the leap for business yet. I wish I could. But I was wondering if anyone out there already has.

I am using with profit #beancount with #fava as webui. The former is CLI only but with the latter it comes a web interface, with a simpler UI for generating reports. All Python-based, if it helps.

Thanks, I'm looking at hledger and beancount, but I'm preferring solutions that I don't have to self-host. Not against self-hosting, just not as confident of my skills when it comes to something as important as business accounting.
