I really wonder what college and education in general is going to be like in 18 years

I imagine the landscape for learning to be very different

Where you have quarterbacks using VR to read defenses and AI that’s infinitely patient to teach kids

I can’t imagine education still being the massive debt burden that it is today with the deflationary technologies that are imminent

I expect homeschooling to become more accessible to people that weren’t otherwise equipped before

Looking forward to that disruption

Me too, but when people are delusional, do not underestimate the waste of coercive planning.

not only a patient AI, but one that is adaptable and engaging. personally I feel like most kids resist schooling because it isn't engaging and is unable to translate the topics to real world applications. I am also looking forward to this disruption 🤝🏻

💯

I wanted to emphasize this more, but wanted to be succinct

The adaptable and engaging part of AI learning will cater to each individual learner

While today’s classrooms may cater to the average leaving some behind and handicaps those ahead, the classrooms of tomorrow will accelerate everyone’s learning to their maximum potential

This makes me optimistic on the future as a whole

precisely 👌

As long as it's free. If the state finds a way to fuck it up, as they are actively trying to, and has the backing by the majority of sheeple, they will.

the more I think about it the more I think state schooling will stay fucked. there's no reason why they wouldnt/couldn't be the ones who decide to prompt the AI what the purpose & goal are for students - which is so dystopia 😅🤣

parents running self hosted FOSS AI models creating their own curriculums for as their kids as well as WITH their kids.

That optimistic version is the future for wise parents who get it. The people who don't fully get it, well I'm optimistic about that too, but cautiously so. All depends on the marketplace and perceptions at that time. Open source software is hard to stop, so it's very unlikely to be all out dystopia. Just wanted to remind everyone what the opposing force is.

I think AI has the potential to unlock a completely different approach to education. You can imagine a Montessori style curiosity driven approach where a child dives deep into their "why is " rabbit holes.

The AI would be able to certify depths of knowledge based on hours in study and performance metrics rather than multiple choice tests that could grant publically recognizable diplomas.

In this world a child might recieve a bachelor level diploma in chemistry by the time they are a pre-teen simply because they've delved so deep into that realm of knowledge.

I haven’t heard that perspective before regarding AI performance review and evaluating child development, that’s interesting!

How do you see that being implemented?

Relying on an AI to grant certification, grades, or diplomas would have to be resistant to being gamed

💯 curiosity, first principle thinking, and logic/ statistics are the only skills resistant to time
