Its mostly just blind group think. Not conscious choices that led them to this. Its really sad.

Some people need authority to trust in order to operate. I bet this works like that for 50% of the people. The rest would rather be their own authority. It's 2 different kinds of humans.

They basically took the dark side of various spiritual teachings
