If you REWRITE the original role and storyline. Then you should probably make YOUR OWN STORY, not rewrite someone else’s. Exactly! If you want a different story, write a new one instead of hijacking an existing classic. Changing everything defeats the purpose of an adaptation. And yeah, bad writing isn't "woke" – it's just bad.
