If you REWRITE the original role and storyline. Then you should probably make YOUR OWN STORY, not rewrite someone else’s. Because it’s really WEIRD Weird when you impose your own narrative over what has 1: already happened 2: is someone else’s life/story . PS this trash isn’t WOKE. It’s trash LABELED AS Woke.

Exactly! If you want a different story, write a new one instead of hijacking an existing classic. Changing everything defeats the purpose of an adaptation. And yeah, bad writing isn't "woke" – it's just bad.
