It's when your body goes into ketosis and starts burning fat instead of storing it.
Discussion
This is correct. Body being able to fully utilize fat as an energy source instead of glucose.
It takes the average person 2 years to reach full fat adaptation and can take someone who was very dependent on carbohydrates as a fuel source up to 4 years to fully adapt!
Ah gotcha. So 2 years
Doesn't ketosis happen roughly after 12 hours of fasting?
Yes. Watch this video to understand better:
It takes several days of no carbs before your body switches fully to fat as a fuel source
I'll watch the video. Is there a difference in the fast before 12h and after? Or it's only once you stopped eating carbs that it makes a difference?
Didn't watch the video yet but I will
There is a difference in effect from fasting the longer it goes. I’m not sure about how different a fast is for a fat adapted person vs non. I’m sure you can find a talk specifically on that by either Dr. Cywes, Dr. Eric Westman or Dr nostr:npub1kyk7ac33apd7cx0nun3laevf84zfhr8pt8kj4h8v7cpx9t72d4gqkyea0g
