Hi. Its basically matters to understand what is this first!
Its WoT protected because you can't get an address with a low WoT rank. And it's not related to the payment.

I have nothing against charging for a nip_05 address. I am suspicious of invoking WoT.
How does a user test that a nip_05 address is valid from their perspective?
I understand that it is valid from YOUR perspective. It just ends up being the same problem as TLS. I am ok with TLS. They do somethings to verify that you are who you say you are and I have no choice but to trust them, but it isn't web of trust.
Its using nostr:nprofile1qqstq4j6pk2sgaupru6l7ah9nq0dueafq356jllwcy7uzlek9yx7hlspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshs4kprv3 which used global page rank. Its not from OUT perspective!
Its calculated globally.
So, you misunderstood the whole thing and it's better to tell this to people. Its just very bad for us. We never consider OUR perspective as a way of validation of someone.
This is exactly my point. A web of trust can only be calculated locally at a moment in time. Who do I trust? There is no such thing as a global view of a web of trust. Your perspective is that you are trusting a particular instance of pagerank.
If you want to use pagerank to vet IDs then I applaud you. It is a clever service. My only point is that web-of-trust has no global view and nip_05 identification is a global view. The two can't be equated.
