Welcome to nostr đ€
Discussion
Thank you, marks. How did you find me?
Saw others comment on your first post.
Where do you "see others comment"? I am failing, I think, to comprehend how to use this client or interface. I've also tried snort.social and that seems even more incomprehensible to me.
I am using an iPhone app called Damus. It shows me two feeds, one for posts and one for âPosts and Repliesâ.
Are you using this in a web browser or in a phone?
Web clients maybe try coracle.social or primal.net
For iPhone there is another called Current. On Android there is Amethyst.
And others that Iâm not thinking of.
Sorry for the delayed response; I'm not yet conversant with this. I am using the Brave web browser on an old Windows 7 desktop computer.
Okay yeah that should work just fine. Try out https://coracle.social or https://primal.net. Maybe theyâll fit your style?
Okay. Seems to be much I must learn.
There is yeah. Weâre all working to make this less difficult for new users. And guess what, youâre helping too! Thanks for being here. Try following people, checking out some hashtags like #grownostr, and being interesting!
i think understanding nsec/npub is the first hurdle. having relay intuition the second. what do you think?
That seems like the right order. I would be fine if relays were not brought up immediately to users. Focus on learning the responsibility of owning your identity. Thatâs the big shift that makes nostr đ„. You are you, protect it.
i just wonder⊠irl it seems pretty clear that we use communities to verify identities. iâm not so sure we actually âownâ our identities⊠is this nostr convention a fiction?!
So maybe more like âyou own your accountâ. There is no support t am to reset it for you. Itâs both stressful and liberating to have that responsibility.
Now if your identity sucks, then yeah maybe the community wonât be cool with that. đ«
Let me try this. My hope is that I reply to you (marks) and not just to myself (m).
Ah...I just respond in the Write Your Reply window, then press the > "button", and the reply appears at the bottom...starting to make more sense now.
Let me see if I can respond to the other fellow who replied to me...
Welcome!
Amethyst for Android is good for notifications and seeing comments and threads.
The Plebstr app is decent too, currently notifies users of "mentions"
Thank you, Jordan!
Now I can't see my two responses. Argh.
