I put in an ad as a singer. I got angry with myself for still waiting for someone to notice me or get better or get enough friends or get prettier or otherwise validated.

I tossed in a recording I did at home on a spot a year ago, when I merely started searching my own voice. It sucks, but hey, it's still something!

So far I've been contacted by 80's covers band playing on city stages and parties, by a guy who seeks a partner to sing with in small events like in art museums or coffee shops and one wants me to do choirs for his recordings. I absolutely love all three offers and hope to land at least one solid project with live singing to get strong and experienced.

Idk who needs to hear this, but

FUCK IT AND DO IT, WHATEVER IT IS. You might be pleasantly surprised and if not, you'll at least know for sure.

Also fuck school, our hobbies and interests need no validation from our teachers.

Nice! πŸ’―βœŠπŸ½πŸ«‘

Fuck school is right, it always taught us to seek authority based validation over everything else.

20 years cut back, man. Twenty years of seeking validation and rather burying myself for being always too extra. I'm dead sure my overeating and anxiety attacks are from this. I can't stop laughing when I'm on the stage for whatever purpose, I'm so freaking happy somebody is waiting for me to show all I got.

It takes a life time to build back the joy that school tried to kill, and most don't ever get it back.

Yas! πŸ’œπŸ€˜πŸ«Ά

That’s awesome news, do them all :)

I will go for it and both sides will decide if it's a good match.

Awesome….don’t wait on something to happen, be proactive and make it happen. πŸ»β€β„οΈπŸ€™πŸ»πŸŽ‰πŸ«‚

Did you mix your recording at all?

The most basic step is layering your vocals. It will increase the quality of recorded singing ten-fold.

Nope. It's recorded through my yamaha on one take. The stagepiano doesn't do layers. Honestly I know nothing about it🫠

Layering vocals is just taking multiple recordings and syncing them together. :) You can do this in practically any audio software, most commonly Audacity.

Proper mixing employs further audio manipulation to create a more clean fusion of all elements within a track.

But, the first step to making vocals sound good is layering multiple takes. This makes the vocals sound full and well-rounded as opposed to a single flat recording of vocals. It's night and day difference. Try it out some time!

Thanks for the tips! But I need hardware for this first...like all of hardwareπŸ‘€

Have fun!

Are you saying no one has noticed a singing bear? For years? πŸ€”

Not many people passing through I guessπŸ»β€β„
