maybe one day someone will make a drm free market for books that I can pay authors directly with bitcoin, until then this is what I have to use.

Why do they have to create the secret key for me tho. That's now how it works. It means that they have a copy of my secret key even for one little moment. I can't tell what they do with that.

We have WebAuthn/passkeys for a reason. It has a bit of the usual W3C bloat but works well enough.

Ideally they would just use npubs for accounts and link purchases to that but this is a good start

enforcing a segregated identity isn’t a bad idea for a site like this.
