It seemed timely to watch Civil War.
I think it does a pretty good job capturing the senseless violence that is inherent to war.
You never even learn the root cause of the war, but it quite frankly doesn't matter.

I heard it's shit and that discouraged me from watching it
Depends on what you're looking for. The plot isn't particularly amazing, but I found it to be realistically believable.
California and Texas banding together? 🤔
Pro-journalist propaganda. The only "good guys" in the big bad world are the journalists. Risking their lives to show us the truth. Conveniently, released right before they really, really need us to listen to journalists.
Aside from that, lots of laughably bad technical errors. Like '80s action movie bad. If it weren't for the serious tone, it might be forgiveable.
It wasn't as bad as Expendables 4, the new Mission Impossible, or Without Remorse.
What errors did you spot?
I recall laughing at the scene with choppers flying 50 feet off the ground between high rise buildings. No sane pilot would do that due to threats from above.
Movie was better than I was expecting and less political too
I was listening to Tucker and PBD a few weeks ago and I think PBD mentioned they assassinate the character that arguably represents Trump… They speculated it could be propaganda to influence the idea
I watched it this weekend and loved it. It was refreshing that it portrayed the hell that war is instead of leaning on political intrigue, and the light exposition gave room for the viewer's imagination of the scenario that led to the war
It felt a lot like Nightcrawler to me, another film I'm fond of. Also, I like Alex Garland a lot
