I have no idea what UTC is and at this point I’m too afraid to ask…

French for universal coordinated time. Same time zone as GMT (the prime meridian and the UK)

The French would be TUC or TCU

In English, it would be UCT

So they chose UTC to be wrong in both languages, so that it wouldn't be biased to one language

Cool just looked it up, thanks for the info!

😂😂

Coordinated Universal Time

basically each place has a UTC plus or minus some number

that way people world wide can coordinate even if they live in different time zones

1630 utc -> 4:30 PM

if you live is UTC -2 then you rest 2 hours 2:30 PM at that's when the event will happen.

if you live UTC + 4 you add 4, so 8:30 PM

you can check which time zone you use locally easilly

The English and the French didn’t want to favor CUT or TUC, so they settled on UTC.

Coordinated Universal Time = CUT

Temps Universel Coordonné = TUC

UTC, the letters, does not stand for anything, it’s just neutral.

UTC = "Up the Creek", which shows you the state of their technical setup :-)

Google is a good resource.

Yes but as this thread proves, asking plebs is more fun 😄

Ultimate Timezone Championship.

Twenty-four men entered the steel octogon and fought each other using boxing, wrestling and kick boxing until only one was left standing.

The victor won the right to declare his timezone 'zero'. Some bloke from Greenwich, England won and the rest is history.

It stands for Upsetting Those Cocksuckers. It means you watch the shows on 2x speed whenever you fucking want.
