Unlike what Mr. Pamplona might or might not think, I do not expect anything from the people that choose to follow GreatGhee.

You are not forced to buy any product of ours, or send us a single sat for any reason. I believe in personal agency and in violently stacking and holding sats. If you don't want to zap me, I could not care less. It's my job to make you have a desire to send me sats either for ghee itself or out of the goodness of your heart to support my business for nothing in return.

Anybody that expects zaps from you should be kept at a distance imo. V4V goes both ways.

You say that because you sell products and people have to pay before they get them. Most people here provide content and then expect people to donate a little. Value for value doesn't work if the value flows only in one way and people just abuse your good will for their own benefit.

My V4V comment at the end of my note I take back.

I agree with you there, except that V4V unfortunately is a pipe dream. You just can't scale on donations alone. People inherently don't like just making donations. But people will definitely be open to either paying for a product, or being the product.

Somewhat related, as a nostr native business, I have a desire to advertise in an effective way. If a client like amethyst can figure that out, that's how you drive revenues my friend. Just one idea though, and a very hard one at that.

I will need to figure this out at some point.

I think the two of you experience nostr in different ways.

a small product seller just starting out on nostr is going to want to amass as many followers as possible because they turn into potential sales. They can afford to publish content and interact with followers without an expectation of value in return because they have the capacity to handle it all.

An established developer is gonna have a much different experience. He makes a post about Amber and gets 60 replies. One user asks what it is and he answers succintly. The user zaps him 500 sats for the answer. Another user asks a question that requires a thoughtful response, Vitor spends time to write an answer and gets no zaps.

Its supply and demand for time and attention. It would be very useful for users to know which of their followers appreciate the content and interaction they provide so they can manage their limited capacity. Everyone's capacity is different because nostr means different things to different people.

I'd be interested in knowing which of my followers do or don't zap me. A no zapper that's filling up my notifications page with demands on my attention and time is not going to get my focus compared to a person who appreciates my time and contributions with monetary value.
