Investing seriously in building a centralized social media following in 2023 is fucking stupid.
You are so likely now to get shadow banned, hacked, spammed, suspended, outright kicked off, "labeled" and every other dumb fucking thing, EVEN when you aren't violating any T&S at all, that making a concerted effort to curate it and spend time up there is highly likely to be a total loss or create a serious dependence.
It's such an incredible mess now.

Spot on. I've benefitted greatly from Instagram over the last ten + years for my business and music and have a nice following but lately I'm getting awfully nervous they're rug pulling us artists to try and compete with the nonsense of Tik-Tok. I'm just waiting for the day that they force me to give up and walk away. I'm lucky to not have to rely on it whatsoever already though so wouldn't be too sad if/when it happens.
But it's all done for the good of us all and to save democracy of course.
