You act as if you have to choose one or the other. I use the best tool for the job that is required.
Historical price trend =/= future price trend. I know most Bitcoiners hate this fact, but any extrapolation into the future is speculation.
If you believe the trend will hold, don't use Monero as savings. Use it for it's strong default privacy utility, as you say, and it's real world fungibility, and very cheap tx fees. A better Medium of Exchange.
Bitcoin can never be made private. It will never be allowed to change L1. Privacy gains on L2 come with major sacrifices to one or more of self-custody, permissionless nature, P2P, and/or illusion of final settlement.
The strongest L2 contender to Monero is Ecash and that is completely custodial. And the mint can arbitrarily print more Ecash without you knowing. Doesn't sound like Bitcoin to me.
