Air Fryers are just tiny fan ovens.

They literally are, and it pisses me off to no end when my friends and family rave about them like it’s some revolutionary device 😂

My wife's brother convinced their parents to buy one.

They now try to fit a roast dinner for 6 people in it while their large oven sits idly by 😂

My lawd lol. Why!!!!

It’s good for individual meals for the cost saving but jeez it’s not a magical box that solves everything!

That's insane. We've made air-fried chicken thighs in an instant pot air fryer, and you can fit maybe 2 in there at a time; probably better off 1 at a time really. Food for 6?? Is there room for the air to move around anymore?

Noooooooooooooooooooooo 😱

I watched his video trying to convince Americans to buy kettles 😂

I honestly bought my gooseneck kettle with temperature control to make coffee with, though it's great for tea too -- particularly green and white teas where you really don't want a full boil. Coffee should be made with water around 200F for optimal alkaloid extraction, and the gooseneck is great for using with a Chemex pourover pot.

I guess growing up we did always have just a stovetop kettle, but it seems like the electric kettles get more popular among folks that get stuck dealing with college dorm conditions, where you often don't get a stove, but you do get outlets. Right up there with rice cookers and instant pots.

Anyway, this is a great video for procrastinating with, as it doesn't accidentally actually accomplish anything.

Despite being tea drinkers, we primarily use ours to boil water for the hob.

Hob? Like, hobgoblin?

Love techconnections (https://www.youtube.com/@TechnologyConnections), my all-time fav is his discussion on the color brown: https://youtu.be/wh4aWZRtTwU?si=msvOWg-LXG6dWeaM

Wait for when you will watch the 1h video about a basic fridge. Or the video about electromechanical pinball... in 3 parts of 50min each.

If this guy would be a science teacher, he would rise the rate of kids getting into engineering studies by a factor 10.

I'm a fan of just using the larger convection oven instead of my duo-crisp Instant Pot, because, well, I can just fit a lot more food into it. I'll admit though that the end result is a little better in the air fryer, but not better enough that I want it to take 3-4 times as long to cook dinner.
