This is why I think it should be treated more like a web browser… is there a way to report and delete things from chrome? Makes no sense.

makes sense… or irc clients
Probably attract some extra interest within Apple after running a 10k TestFlight.
All good interest?! :-)
Manyverse’s deletion pattern says “Deleting this account will bring you back to the start screen, where you can restore your account or create a new one.
Are you sure you want to do this?”
If they treat you like a web browser that’d be awesome. Seems unlikely / maybe new rules would be needed :)
Guidelines say that apps that support account creation must also offer account deletion to give App Store users more control of the data they've shared while using your app. These rules definitely not helpful for a decentralized product :/

Yup, and technically that doesn’t delete the account itself, it removes it from the Manyverse app. It’s more akin to logging out
Any concern about Apple trying to restrict invoicing for SATs over nostr through Damus (I missed the beta by two days so not sure how it works in the app)? Not saying they're in-app purchases, but I was curious given its earlier attempt at getting coinbase to pay up for gas fees.
Just can’t use it for in app purchases. Should be fine.
We are all sitting beside you waiting anxiously on the outcome of the App Store submission 👊🏼
Makes sense, I don't think it should be an issue either because obviously nostr is just the delivery mechanism for the invoice and not where funds transfer, but the fact Apple is trying to take 30% of gas fees paid through a Coinbase wallet always has me concerned about in-app purchase mission creep.
It’s going to be interesting for sure, I’m expect they realise Damus will set a precedent for a lot of subsequent App Store submissions.
They may well throw some curveballs in terms of online safety.
Being able to manage your own content sources is a good argument
The reeder 5 app on iOS allows you to read your articles with an RSS feed easily, Damus could position itself as this application
It should definitely be categorized as a reader application for the content policies, it also will exempt it from the in-app purchases policy. Good ol Damus Reader. 🙂
Rebranding to Damus RSS Reader lol
😂
I thought it is a RSS Reader…what am I missing?
I was thinking that I wouldn’t mind my rss reader to allow me to subscribed to nostr:// feeds but I’ll take it the other way around
both ways is best. existing RSS feeds translated to nostr, and nostr events translated to RSS. very POC implementation of this on nostr.io now under each profile, such that you can subscribe to that profile's events. podcasting could be greatly improved in this way. imagine following pubkeys that repost podcast events. disaggregation of RSS feeds will be a killer app once implemented.
Oh wow… I’ve peeped my profile over on nostr.io… I didn’t think to put that link into my reeder, just did I’m v impressed.
what happens when clients start supporting kind 5? Will this feed update?
nostr.io already respects kind 5. and so far, when you hit the rss URL it generates the feed from the db each time, so deleted events would disappear from the feed
