Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Usually I'm frantic trying to get all the things done, this morning everything has just sort of fallen in to place. Waiting to put the cranberry crisp in the oven and then I'm done. Hope those celebrating enjoy their Thanksgiving and those not celebrating enjoy their Thursday!

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Day ๐๐ฆ๐ฝ๐โ๏ธ๐ซก๐งก๐ฅง
Thank you ๐ซ๐๐ฆ
I'm not enjoying my Thursday either. But thanks, I guess.
For us filthy foreigners, especially the ones you are giving thanks for getting away from ๐
Can you share photos and recipes of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
If you do, I will give my thanks ๐ซ
I will try to snap some pics, we go to a friend's house and they cook the turkey, ham, and dressing. It's not what I'd call traditional seeing as the turkey is fried...๐คฃ
I've got oven roasted sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, I'm trying nostr:nprofile1qqsrx6ws5a3s3ys3l8zllwv3d4yen393kmkp4eg4l3akxxrlavpqw4cpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3samnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwdhx7un59eek7cmfv9kqzxnhwden5te0w35x2en0wfjhxapwdehhxarjxyhxxmmds5arw3 's corn pudding, and a cranberry crisp.
Fried Turkey? ๐ณ
Yep. Big ass turkey dunked in a bucket of hot peanut oil.
Yes, lol. In Texas and I think generally in the south it's how we do, like giant fried chicken ๐คค. Very healthy ๐.
Here it is in all it's glory! Ham, turkey, cornbread dressing, smoked baked beans, mashed potatoes, corn pudding, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, and there were rolls and mac & cheese for the kids. Good times and full bellies were had by all!

Now that's a lot of food.
In t he UK after Christmas, my favourite is using leftovers for "cold meats and pickles", which you have with salad.
The star of this dish is "Bubble and Squeak", which is fried left over mash potato which we include cheddar cheese, spring onions and left over vegetables, broccoli, peas, carrots etc...
Also adding an egg and some plan flour helps bind it together. Here is a more traditional recipe:
I America, we start eating right after Halloween, and continue straight through New Year. Then, the first day of the new year we lie to ourselves and pledge to never eat again.
Bubble and Squeak ๐ I'm going to have to try this on the name alone. I love the fun traditions everyone has. Like I said before, ours is most definitely not what the rest of the world (or AI) thinks of as a traditional Thanksgiving dinner but it is a great time...and it's for lunch, lol.
