Has anyone else noticed that more and more people seem absolutely oblivious to the fact that the people around them also have an internal experience of the world?

Playing videos on a phone out loud in public spaces, walking behind cars that are backing out of parking spaces, avoiding small talk at coffee shops and grocery stores.

I wonder where it all comes from, because it seems to be generational.
