RFK is a good candidate. IMO one of the best we’ve seen in a long time. But I still can’t figure out why he is (or was) so opposed to nuclear, and shut down a nuclear plant in NY that forced them to use more fossil fuels. Everything i can find about his position seems to relate to the economics of nuclear.

Have his stances changed? Was it simply a misunderstanding of nuclear 5 years ago? Or was the technology for nuclear different 5 years ago?

Nuclear is 3x more expensive than renewables, and that’s before you add in decommissioning and waste storage AND its still adding to Global warming as it’s ultimately additional heat energy, and won’t be ready soon enough to curtail Fossil Fuels.

If I understand correctly, building the infrastructure is what makes is so expensive, but long term, the energy output more than makes up for those initial costs (especially if you use bitcoin miners to soak up the excess). I’ve also read that the waste disposal takes up a very small amount of space and there are better methods for disposable now, so compared to other sources the waste isn’t that bad. As for the heat off put, if we subbed nuclear for fossil it would still have a much much much smaller foot print than fossils because there’s no CO2 emissions from nuclear.

Correct me if any of that is wrong, I’m by no means an expert on this.

EDF are broke. No private entity will build Nuclear because they just can’t make it pay. That’s why they’re all slyly lobbying for gov handouts. They’ve been outcompeted by renewables.

“The problem is that all human energy use ends up as heat. That's no problem now: our current global energy use corresponds to 0.04 Watt/sqm (that's per square metre of Earth surface). The human-caused CO2 increase has a far stronger warming effect: 2.1 W/sqm, following IPCC. 2/“ @rahmstorf

Also to have any hope of lessening #climate emergency we need to switch away from FFs ASAP. 10 years it takes to build nuclear is too late.

Ok so we need to switch if FFs asap but what’s the alternative? Wind and solar aren’t reliable base layer sources of energy. Hydro can work but then you have geographical restraints. If we just shut off fossils fuels a large chunk of the world population would just die. I just don’t think it’s possible to switch off fossil fuels asap, or even completely remove them from the equation ever. If anything it would be a slow gradual phase out, but we still need a reliable base layer, and the only one that can work at scale is nuclear. I know it’s hard to get money but that’s where I see bitcoin miners coming in (i know that may sound like a pipe dream but it really could help). I also know it takes time to build them, but what other option do we have?

Wind & solar doesn’t need to be reliable. The money saved on not Building Nuclear could buy huge quantities of Solar Wind & batteries & be up and running in <3 years.

BEV’s will soak up Renewables when it’s cheap & abundant . EV’s can last days to weeks without charging. This is already happening, just needs scaling up. Also Vehicle To Grid. If 10M vehicles give 10kWh each is 100GWh battery

Base layer is a myth, batteries can now provide grid inertia.

I don’t say this is easy. If we started 20 or 30 years ago, we’d be much further on by now, but we’ve had massive #population increase & nothing but delay tactics from Government , Fossil Fuels & the Nuclear industry.

Unfortunately, times up. The Planet’s heat trap has been set in motion, the kettle has been switched on, we’re just waiting for it to boil now.

There is only damage limitation.

IMO the parties who want total control have a silver bullet. It’s climate change. It helps implement all their mechanisms of control. The parties who want total control don’t want energy abundance for citizens, might explain why nuclear plant development stopped in the 1970’s. It could have stopped due to legitimate fears and uncertainty about radiation and the dangers of nuclear BUT given the small amount of people affected from the disasters that have occurred and the lack of disasters across the entire spectrum it’s easy to assume the disasters were used politically to slow and end the growth of nuclear plants because the powers that be didn’t want a world of free energy because free energy strips them of their power to control.

Now getting back to RFK. We the people are fed with constant propaganda and false prophets. The climate change propaganda began when? 20-30 years ago? Maybe longer. So you can assume some INSANE planning has gone into this huge transition that’s under way currently for humanity from the top down. So you can assume they would have foreseen a massive number of people rejecting this transition, so how do you implement your plan even with a large % of the population rejecting it?

You implant false prophets. People that seem to be fighting alongside you and against this transition. I feel like we’ve seen some of these, one that sticks out is Elon. What has he done? Apparently he’s fighting the good fight but what has he done? He expedited the acceptance and transition to EV’s (which are finally now getting viewed as scams, despite every major car manufacturer committed to transitioning), he’s sold the idea we need to go to Mars?!?!?, he tried to push underground tunnel travel for cars where you get placed on a pad and the pad moves along a track, he’s convincing the public we need to integrate with AI by implanting a chip in our brain, and now he’s taken over Twitter for free speech issues but he peddles Doge coin? Lol.

My point is, most people LOVE Elon but is he fighting to bring humanity a better world or is he a false prophet steering the masses to a cliff?

For RFK, he seems to be an implant. Everything checks out except for his nuclear and O&G takes which is a huge tell IMO. How can you be against reliable energy when the vast majority of the world population doesn’t have reliable energy? Wind and solar are scams, yet he’s in favor of that?

He seems to be another Elon at the perfect time in the perfect political environment.
