I think romance means different things at different times in your life. As a new relationship, it was thoughtful gifts like a favorite movie and watching it together. Now it's about letting the kid stay with the grandparents and having an evening/afternoon together and just being us instead of mom and dad. Sometimes it's making the coffee or letting the other sleep in 😂🤷♀️. Over 20 years in and we're still navigating the waters 🫂💜

Yes, the best thing I ever did was realize that I needed to be me instead of mommy once in a while. It helped me to like myself and my husband again during those trying first years.
