BASIC was one of the first computer programming languages I learned on an Atari 400. It helped when learning other similar languages like BASICA, Visual Basic, VB Script/VBS, Visual Basic for Applications/VBA, PowerBuilder, LotusScript, VB.NET, Casio Basic, GW Basic

Made me remember of my Visual Basic early days when trying to code am “an intelligent chatbot”. Something makes me think that I should have stayed in that path … 😂

Basic with assembler to do the page swapping for gfx routines 🐳

my first language was Tandy/Radio Shack Extended Color Basic which was derivative of Microsoft Basic

super simple language, did all teh things...

until #golang there was no other language as simple as #BASIC, that did all the things

when i was 9 years old i was attempting to write a GUI with the above mentioned variant of BASIC on the TRS-80 CoCo my father bought... mainly for his own amusement, but peripherally for my education

of course, he didn't really want me to learn, i had compulsive curiosity and i read every magazine he bought and the programming manuals for days on end until i became inspired to write my own things based on what i'd learned

Fond memories of when BASIC programs wee in math textbooks in my younger years.
