WE HAVE A BADGE SPEC! I have been waiting for this. I am super excited for this!
We can use badges for a variety of situations, such as attending a conference, being an early adopter or beta tester, to participating in an event, or paying for an "orange check", the possibilities are endless.

So how does this process work now? People open up some PRs for the nostr repo based on the spec and the one that fits the most gets merged?
Essentially, yes. It's then up to relays or clients to implement them. They aren't required.
What do relays do, and what should I do with them?

With NIP-58, users can now receive and display "badges" on their profiles for various achievements, tasks or causes. This is going to be awesome!

Maybe keep the "d" in lower-case? I presume queries on it is case-sensitive, right?
Good catch. The query *is* case sensitive. I generally think querying ought to have a case insensitive option. Esp. for NIP5’s. For badges I’m not sure how much it will matter. It seems like most handling of these will be programmatic. But I could be wrong. Thanks for pointing it out. You’ve given me something to noodle for sure.
