I mean it's comparing June to February. I imagine there would be more energy consumption in February for heat etc.? Do seasonal differences explain the delta? I am genuinely curious

It shows the consumption too in the lighter bar (450 kWh vs 545 kWh)

A 20% increase in energy consumption shouldn’t warrant a 1000% increase in the bill especially when the energy provided back was more than double the compared month

It seems by adding more solar, his contract was updated to NEM 3.0, which is a different energy contract that ultimately pays less for the energy he generates (based on my understanding)

The core problem is that there isn’t a market for his energy generation only a single state monopoly that can set the price

The only option seems to be adding batteries to claim the benefit of the energy production otherwise he’s giving it away for close to nothing

I still think solar is great and it makes sense to add to many homes, but batteries are costly and provide the majority of the benefit so that should be considered
