I’d you were to add text-to-speech to an app for long reads, how would you do it?

Mobile app?

yes

Perhaps nice readable text, action bar at the bottom (like podcasts) for play, voice choice, speed, prev and next paragraph selection. Also allow people to start playing by tapping on a paragraph. Text is followed (highlighted) as spoken

Have you tried iOS text to speech?

big fan, just looking for more integration use cases

If someone drops a 20,000 word long reads, having more in-app tools could be interesting

Damus limited resources means that we will not reinvent and text to speech framework. We can explore playback capability as suggested by y’all.

About anything in particular or any app at all? I might be able to use that service in a few weeks…

Anything at all

That’s incredibly generous. 🙏

Would love some feedback on https://swarmstr.com if possible

Thank you! Really appreciate your feedback. Noted everything and will adapt accordingly.

Also to clear up things a bit:

UseLessShit is my website which I maintained up until I started working on swarmstr. The issue was I had to add the resources manually which kinda became difficult at some point so I wanted to make it possible for everyone to contribute. I also wanted to make it easy for people to share the content without the need to always go to an external website to see it. For this reason I decided to build a small nostr client (swarmstr) which fetches the notes tagged with asknostr hashtag. This way one could ask a question and it would automatically be added to the resources for everyone to see. Also anyone could answer a question directly from the client they’re using.

Here’s the announcement note:

Got a lot of work to do in terms of usability and design 😉

One again thank you for your feedback!

Thanks for clarifying.

I think I’ve managed to apply most of the suggestions I got from you 🤙

You can check them out if you like 😉

Gonna move on to fixing the functional stuff

It is not super worked, but I would like to hear what you think about my design proposal for a linktree-style client

Thanks man! Appreciated your tips, ill continue developing it, at this moment im more focused in the app development, and designing on the fly, later I will do a better implementation of the design. Also my idea is to create a theme system so you can customize the look n feel, so It will only be purple at first and for whoever wants hahaha.

In any case, if the project inspires you, it would be great to have your designs :)

Is it possible to get some feedback on the 0xchat App? www.0xchat.com 😜

Yeah will do tomorrow. Just did it but forgot mic was off 🤦‍♂️
