The average Joe will learn todo anything as long as they have a need for it or they see their peers doing that thing.

Do you call that sheep 🐑 mentality?

No, but I wouldn't object if others did.

same way my 3 year old works.. i can tell her she needs to learn to put her coat on its cold, but until she goes outside and wants the coat on, or sees her peer wearing a coat...she aint gonna do it willingly and on her own just cuz i tell her its best for her and she needs to take responsibility, etc.

Maybe adults are just children.

i see similarities to my child in adult behavior, and i see similarities in my dog to my childs behavior. amazing we discovered fire when you start thinking about it 😂

I wouldn't have discovered it.

We didn't discover it. We observed it and learned how to preserve it, then how to move it, then how to create it.

Like any source of energy.

this average Joe has always persued (is that a word?) my own persuits whether popular or not. It's personal.

I wonder how average the name Joe really is.

I think the average joe only learns when they absolutely have to, if that thing is not in their field. Even when their peers do it, if it requires learning, and specially changing anything in their habits, they just ignore it for as long as they can.

The latter is particularly true.

Mimesis is a powerful force.

Exactly, look at all the old people using smartphones that never really used computers

this is true. i am an average joe (jane?) and learnt to do a lot of things just to survive

I think every average Joe has potential. That doesn’t mean all will find success. But better incentives, on a long enough timeline, will increase %
