I would ditch plex in an instant if users could create a nostr account on the fly and request access to my server then connect to jellyfin without having to type in the url or further authenticate since theyre already siging with thwir nsec. Id also give access to something like jellyseerr so i can add requested content.

But i dont want to set this (user accounts, expose jellyfin, etc) all up manually. Ugh this might be a project worth looking into while i'm off from work.

You feel comfortable exposing jellyfin to the open web? I do not trust myself nor most software with that.

Yea, it's the easiest way i can see sharing or accessing from external network without having users connect via wireguard

I am doing the wireguard approach (although I failed so many times to get local LAN routing to work that i have up and started to use Tailscale...)

But I also does not really have any external users for that reason 😅
