What's your #digital #lineage #Nostr?

My origin is the wired dual paddle pong game and the handheld dot matrix racing games of the early 1980s.

It was then the ancient humungous stand alone word processor that I wrote my first poems on after I played my Atari 2600

Then my PC era began with an IBM 286-8 running DOS 3.1 in 1987

Grew up with the Williams of Sierra Online origin, played all their games, stayed over at their house, eventually worked in the warehouse

BBS systems were first online interactions and gaming

AOL chat, ICQ, Usenet, Myspace

Cellphone era explodes

The PC upgrades continued regularly through P3

Intel Cores arrive and upgrades continue forever

Twitter

Gave in to a FB acct

Steem

killed Twitter and FB accts

Steem became Hive

Gab, killed Gab acct

I'm sure this isn't everything as SO MANY sites came and went that I used a few times, which is why it doesn't matter they aren't on the list.

I'm thinking "homepages, telnet, muds, moos, and mushes" near the Usenet era.

I played Decathalon (and lots of other games) with paddles. It was like someone thought, "How can I insert a dial into a digital interface?"

The paddle games were an interesting step in home gaming but once the Atari hit the consoles were it.

I see Usenet is still around but it feels more like the darknet at this point.

Usenet might have a resurgence when we move to independent mesh radio networks.

I bricked one of my two heltecs with a big antenna on it so need another set so I can play again.

Fried it from static charge? I'm thinking to set up Meshtastic and/or Reticulum devices at farms around me.

Not sure. I hooked up my disc cone to it and it now is dead, won't boot, load, accept a connection.

Learned stuff messing on a TRS-80 coding stupid simple stuff in BASIC.

Fast forward...first email account was on excite.com (sounds creepy now!)

Fasr forward...Bitcoin

Fast forward...Steem which became Hive

Much other stuff left out. My big three now are bitcoin, Hive, and nostr.

I had the PC at home and then in 5th grade we learned basic on on Commodores... I had EGA at home at that point... I mean come on... monochrome?!
