I see the creation of nostr the same way I see the American founding: based on incoherent, problematic ideas from a heterogenous group of founders; full of structural flaws; a hasty response to abuse of authority - but the seed of a movement that could change the course of history.

Bitcoin, in contrast, I think is much more pure, both technically and ideologically, and has the chance not only to change the course of history, but to define an epoch.

I agree, except probably we disagree about which epoch Bitcoin defines

👀 elaborate

I view Bitcoin as the ultimate fiat token

(pun intended)

That could use a little more elaboration, too.

You are a goldbug, no?

Yes

Bitcoin is a trade token with no real substance, just like fiat

I believe Bitcoin will be remembered as the capstone of the fiat epoch, not as the cornerstone of a hard money era

Depending on how things go, both could be equally as important…

But without #bitcoin, #nostr relays can’t economically survive in a censorship-resistant way.

I have thought about Misty's structural flaws but I can't really think of anything that I would have done better.
