if Bitcoin can’t survive an attempt of institutional capture; was it ever what we thought it was in the first place?

Bitcoin is only as powerful as those that wield it. Its technical strengths can only go so far if there is no intolerant minority willing to invoke these strengths and resist institutional capture.

The intolerant minority don't own Bitcoin, nor do they need it. When you're the intolerant majority of your own chain, Bitcoin has no value beyond the liquidity you allow it.
