I'm pondering how to pulverize my biochar. My chipper will do it but only if it is pretty dry. A blender is too small. I took a look at harbor freight's electric chipper but it looks like sub Fisher Price quality to me. I might build a machine I'm thinking about going super fine with it.

I wonder if a grain mill would work?

Please let me know what you come up with because I've been thinking about the same thing.

I thought about making a hammer mill using chains but then I thought that potential sparks and carbon dust could be a fire hazard. Perhaps if it was damp out would work.

Jack Spirko uses his chipper with damp biochar and says it works great. I'm to cheap to buy a chipper right now.

I did see on YouTube a guy using a garbage disposal with decent results

Would rolling over it with your vehicle do the trick? Could you put it in a bag and put it in your driveway so when you leave or come you crush it? After a month is it pulverized? I haven’t worked with biochar just throwing out an idea.

Love that idea!

I have one of those $100 shredders.

Doesn't work great for chipping, but I'll bet it will grind that BioChar up real good.

I bought the same kiln #[2] has. It's painted and I am going to assemble it this coming weekend.

Hope to try out the chipper soon after, but perhaps you might beat me to it.

Also... For $100 you can't go wrong

I suck it through my leaf vacuum (stihl bg86)

You'd think it would chew up the impeller but it doesn't.

Here is a pic of the finished biochar. Dust all the way up to maybe 1/4 inch chunks.

I've also run it through grain mills (hand crank and electric).
