Are you sure Linux partitioned are affected? Possibly only a bootloader was changed to Windows bootloader? If true should be fixable from Linux installer that will later be able to boot both.

Nope I picked the wrong drive and overwrote the whole damn thing with windows

Is handy for Linux. A nice combination of rsync & hard linking with a simple gui.

Pretty much baremetal performance with PCI passthrough in Linux.... Why do this to yourself?

good. you now won't ever make the same mistake again. ๐Ÿค™

I think this was the universes way of saying fuck around and find out.

No reason to install a malware / spyware operating system just to play a game.

Aside from that, I sincerely hope you recover from your loss soon. GN

What was the game thooo ๐Ÿค”

I made the same mistake and unintentionally pruned 800GB of data Iโ€™d accumulated down to under 300MB of just the important stuff thatโ€™ll fit on a thumb drive. It was a project that, had I done it intentionally would have taken a couple days. Itโ€™s like cleaning out a hoarderโ€™s house vs burning every except the fire safe.

I'm worried about upgrading to windows 11 for fear of what it will do to my GRUB. I've found in the past that I have to install Linux after windows else windows nukes the GRUB.

There are many ways to kill your distro besides windows installation or dd. I figured out a new way few weeks ago, thanks to pacman.
