What product do you sell? Recently I’ve become very interested in the topic of sales, as I try to acquire more pupils which essentially is selling my curriculum and persona as a teacher. Would you say sales is a good career path to get into even around 30? Been considering studying again and look at engineering or programming, however I do enjoy the dance of making a match with a customer.

I currently sell in the DevSecOps software space but it’s boring as hell. Every

company’s doing the same thing. Cookie cutter approach to “move to the Cloud, improve dev speed, dashboard everything,……”

I am looking into real disruptive companies to work for at the moment but getting paid too much to leave right now.

I’ve sold for Salesforce, Oracle, Sumo Logic, Box, & Splunk.

30 is a great age to start. You’ve got some life experience. Software sales ain’t for everyone but sales is. Find something you’re passionate about, really study sales (MEDDIC) and be ready to join with a beginners mindset. You can do very well especially if you treat it more like your own small business than working for a company. Good luck.

Thank you for taking the time. I’ll definitely give this some more thought. Is the traditional route into sales doing a course?
