Got robbed once. Only some valuable aruff were taken, fitting in a big backpack I guess (a bag pack was even stolen, probably to store the stolen stuff). Insurance covered everything, but I end up buying back for half of this amount.

Sometimes I'm wondering what I would miss if my entire place burn down completely. Probably not much. Could even be a relief somehow.

However, don't touch my sats, or I will track you down to hell.

got my bike stolen once. immediately replaced it within a week.

Probably follows the same rule if it's broken, time to upgrade!

It would be superstition to link the two. If you need the thing, you buy it. Nothing else matters.

I think deeply about every non consumable item purchase I make. So I don't have the luxury of letting theft taint my ability to purchase and use an item I painstakingly picked among everything else.

If it's something you use everyday I'd deal hunt for a replacement on the used market. If its something you don't use often Let it Go.

It depends... If it's something that I can replace with something I already have or if it's not really useful, I'll tend not to buy it.

But if it's something that I need or really want to have, but that I see a risk of being stolen again, I'd think hard about choosing something less expensive and/or that attracts less attention.

someone stole my favorite jacket yesterday that I had immediate rebought after losing it several years prior. I'm upset as I'm struggling to find the exact one again online since I bought the original in 2019 and my replacement in 2022. I'm legitimately upsett because I love that jacket 😔
