Is anyone else using Primal on desktop without Alby? #asknostr
I did not sign up for the new cloud service with Alby, so I'm trying to figure out zaps with coinos wallet instead. I'm using nos2x to sign in, but zaps not working (i have changed the lightning address in my profile).
I used to use the custodial Alby. But now I only use it on browser with nos2x for posting only. For zapping I go back to my phone. Once I setup my Alby Hub, this problem will be solved.
You don't need to use Alby Hub to use the Extension.
Nostr signing feature is independent of the lightnign wallet interface in Alby Extension. You can still use it, even if you dropped together with our legacy sunset. Moreover, you can even connect #CoinOS to Alby Extension (use NWC) and use your Coinos wallet in the browser!

I connected CoinOs with NWC, but now a new npub was created, so it doesn’t login to this account on nostr.
So I must connect this npub then, to the new wallet?
And every wallet in your getalby extension is its own separate entity with its own master key?
CoinOS and NWC is a separate thing, has nothing to do with npubs.
Nostr keys are managed and used by the Extension, without regards to what lightning node it is connected to.
Every time new profile (wallet) in the Extension is created, new random Master Key is generated, nsec is derived out of it, and npub is derived out of npub.
If you want to use other Nostr keys (like your existing ones, generated elsewhere or earlier), you simply need to go to Wallet Settings in the Extension and paste your nsec there.

I had that problem originally- only some people could zap me on primal, so I added Alby. I’m currently using my strike wallet
