Great note

where is it from?

I have an update! If you search โ€œTIAA-CREF ad 1996โ€, a bunch of stuff comes up, including the ad for sale on eBay! https://www.ebay.com/itm/275154503244

Burger and fries (eating out) were a pretty good guess. European cars are way cheaper, though electric cars get close. Vacation is much cheaper, but it depends on your lifestyle and the number of travelers. Driving, eating out and tourism massively increased. Median salaries also went up, though nog enough to offset inflation. Minimum wage stayed behind, though that was intentional.

And large televisions got a whole lot cheaper ๐Ÿ˜†

True, though that's despite money printing, otherwise it would have been even more impressive.

The OG โ€œyouโ€™ll own nothing and be happyโ€

People will always borrow money to keep up with the Joneses

We're getting closer

๐ŸŽฏ

Pretty close.

Around 30 years

Looks fake.

It's a little "too on the nose" as Scott Adams says.

Furthermore, magazine looks bent but text on picture not so much, same goes for lighting. IMHO text was added to a picture of a magazine.

You can buy it on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/275154503244

Well damn, that's kind of amazing!

We're right on track

Based on what I see about their returns on retirement investments, they are right, you will eat in, wonโ€™t drive and wonโ€™t go anywhere if you were one of their customers, as it looks like their plan isnโ€™t beating inflation

What about the price paid for your work. Has that gone up.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand we're there.
