I've not listened to them before. I like it.
My metal journey began in the late 2000s with underoath and As I Lay Dying, I've only just realized in the last few years how long really heavy metal music has been around.

Listened to both of them in that time period as well, but I especially liked Killswitch Engage. I eventually discovered they were influenced by Swedish melodeth and promptly went down that rabbit hole.
Nice. I pretty much stayed in the metalcore x deathcore scene, but I'm realizing much good music there is outside of that. Love me a good breakdown though, that will never change.
Feel free to recommend some deathcore. I've spent so much time delving into melodeath to atmospheric black metal to doom metal and a bit of power metal... So I've mostly missed out on the deathcore movement.
I did discover this the other day, and it's pretty amazing. Should satisfy your breakdown addiction.
That song is a banger, holy cow.
Lorna Shore seems like the big one in blackened deathcore right now, a lot of their singles sound the same, but they have some pretty creative songs and multi-song concepts.
I did a dive with Oceano last year, they've been around since before I got into metal and they're still making stuff.
I like some Thy Art is Murder, I'd put them pretty overlapped with metalcore.
I listened to some Whitechapel and enjoyed it, they're another that's been around forever.
My problem with a lot of the genre is the gore. I love the music, but grossout gore or explicit demonic stuff is a big turnoff.
