Any musicians here have any experience with using a prophet synthesizer? If so, do you think it’s worth the investment?

Prophets are neat
But synths are hard so if you aren't experienced with them, maybe get some experience before dropping the loot
No experience, but I also want to get into synthesizers.. there are also few other alternatives to look at:
-Novation Summit (my top choice)
-Asm Hydrasynth
-The Korg Prologue 16
-Behringer DeepMind
Played with the korg and fell in love with it, excited for our synth journey together
🙋♂️ had the Prophet Rev2 for years - to the question of is it worth it, the answer depends on what you’re looking to do with it. The Prophets (especially the ones that were built by Dave Smith are super-flexible instruments and great for the deep rumbly stuff, beautiful arpeggiated runs (built in sequencer) and awesome chords (with the large polyphony).
When I bought mine, I got it via Reverb and used buy now, pay later service so it felt like a more approachable purchase as opposed to paying outright.
Thank you for this 🫂
Definitely might finance it probably will get it on sweetwater bc their buy now pay later option is so nice.
I was feeling really limited with an abelton push, i couldn’t make the music I wanted to honestly, needed a synth/keyboard to do what I want to do, and I’d way rather invest in something high quality that’ll last :))
Prophet will def last you and you'll grow with it and it with you
One of the greats on the prophet https://youtu.be/j4qfT2dxU6E
Fellow musician and kinda newbie around. I mix folk with synths but confess I use them as vst, not familiar with them as hardware.
I own the prophet 08 and it is one of my greatest acquisitions
