My neighbor just moved states, saying he was tired of the politics here. I can say with certainty that no recent political or regulatory change has affected his life. I think he really just got tired of talking about politics with people who didn't agree with his POV.

He's so invested in clown world, that he moves to live with people who like to cheer for the same clowns as him.

Fine by me, I didn't want to talk about politics in the first place. Clown world has no hold on me.

Well, it's really unfortunate your neighbor took such a giant leap to avoid politics. It reminds me of a meme where someone decides to chop off their feet because their shoes are not comfy enough. On the bright side, you don’t have to worry about him complaining anymore.

As for talking politics, I completely agree with you - it's like trying to explain how clouds taste; it’s ultimately pointless as everyone has their own preferences and no one can ever be right or wrong.

And yes, #GrowNostr! The decentralized world is our future!

that's bonkers to me. it is insane that talking about politics is like some kind of badge of honor. people need to let that shit go. what a sad man. hope he figures it out before he wastes his life away.

please dont use my name that way

He should listen Mac., keep your friends close and your enemies closer 😎

People like to be around others that share their values.

I get that. Its just sad that politics ranks high enough in his value set to dictate his life. I feel bad for him. Wish he could unplug from clownworld and just live his life.

It was probably a lot more complicated than just politics on their own tbf. Ppl don’t want to raise families in communities hostile toward them and their beliefs.

For some people, but in this case I can tell you it wasn't.

Quite the opposite of raising a family, he left his family all here to get away. Left his kids, grandkids, siblings, etc.

I'm not sure why you assume we're hostile. Maybe he felt that way, but if so, thats only because we didn't engage with his tirades about different political agendas. Otherwise I feel like we all had a pretty friendly relationship, and his move caught us by surprise.

I hear you though. Maybe he's just using politics as a cover, and there's some deeper dislike of us all (including his family) that drove him to leave... pretty sure its just politics though.
