I don't really get the point of man-caves.
Around here, men stay in the living room or their office. Woman are in the kitchen. The kitchen has a comfy chair or an Eckbank, but it's like a train station.
It's the wives who need a room of their own. 😭

Everyone needs a few rooms. Especially if hobbies involved.
I'm not fond of the designated areas. You both own the space. You can have any or the entire home as you please.
That would drive me bonkers. Need some place to put my stuff and be alone.
I think it is more about aesthetics. Women have broad authority over decoration and setup of the whole house, the man cave is the one room that allows the man's aesthetic preferences to be expressed.
