I’m seeing a general trend of devs being unhappy with AI tools. People leaving cursor, Claude performance dipping, v0 squeezing customers, just general dissatisfaction seemingly everywhere I look.

Is the future of AI tools for development mostly hype? Are we going to plateau soon?

Doubt it. The trend on the 1 year timescale is exceedingly positive. The last month felt like a sea change with GPT and Shakespeare (Claude). Even if it stays like this the effect is going to pull a ton of people into building, both experienced but rusty devs and product people alike

I have no doubt more people will come, but it’s starting to sound like models are hitting limits. I don’t recall that much difference between Claude 3.7 and 4

It is plateauing. And now AI models are scraping AI generated content as well...

Prob gonna get worse

Feels like hype to me

I'm vibing more than ever. And I'm getting better at it.

Can confirm. I feel no worry at all as long as I can still go through the code and understand what's being done.

I've only been at it for a month but I've build tons of cool stuff that's custom just for me.

Bingo. I'm building custom tools and scripts for myself every day. And I actually use them. They are incredibly useful.

This is bullish ☕😎

the tools are better than ever, yet people will find a way to complain. I'm stoked to the max and vibes are high

It’s amazing if you just pay credits for the API access

There's always some level of hype in the mixture. A slow grind is likely the reality. Although the improvements in tech seem to be a lot faster these days. A mid grind?
